On the Ranch

Even if you can’t make it out to join us on Saturday, December 8th, be sure to stop in the Kiley Ranch Welcome Center Wednesday thru Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm throughout the entire month of December and check out the lovely art on display. You will have the opportunity to view wonderful pieces from the local artist’s of Artouring and the Artist’s Co-op, and if something strikes your fancy, you will even have the option to purchase the piece.

 Artouring gives members of the public the opportunity to visit local artist’s studios and get a behind-the-scenes look at their craft. Participants can ask artists about their techniques and inspiration and get a detailed look at how beautiful pieces are created. The Reno Artist’s Co-op is a group of local artists who specialize in many different mediums.  You can see their pieces displayed at many different venues throughout the area including the Artist’s Co-op at 627 Mill St. For more information, please call 775-322-8896.

On December 7th, 8th, and 9th Lazy 5 Regional Park will host the 7th Annual “It’s a Wonderful Christmas” Arts & Crafts Fair. Admission and parking are free. Hours are as follows: Friday noon-6; Saturday 9am-6pm; Sunday 10am-4pm. When you’re done shopping on Saturday, stop by the Kiley Ranch Welcome Center before 3 pm for holiday music, refreshments, and a chance to meet talented local artists!

Saturday, November 3rd the Builders Association of Northern Nevada recognized the best in new home construction, design, and marketing at their 10th annual BANN-ER Awards. Kiley Ranch was awarded top honors in the categories of “Best Print Ad”, “Best TV Spot”, “Best Radio Ad”, and “Best Overall Ad Campaign”.  See the winning entries created by Rose Glenn Group below.

Saturday, October 13th was an absolutley beautiful day for our first-ever Fall Harvest Festival.  Thank you to everyone who came out to partake in the festivities.  Because of the generous donations from our guests and Farmers’ Market vendors, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada was able to collect 393 pounds of food and enough monetary donations for 2,072 meals! Please enjoy the pictures from our event.

On Friday, October 5th, Truckee Meadows Tomorrow held its 10th biennial ”Accentuate the Positive” celebration, recognizing individuals and organizations in our community who have made an extraordinary commitment to quality of life.  Thirty-four Silver Star winners were chosen based on their commitment to ten categories including Arts & Cultural Vitality, Civic Engagement, Economic Wellbeing, Education & Lifelong Learning, Enrichment, Health & Wellness, Innovation, Land use & Infrastructure, Natural Environment, and Public Wellbeing.

Kiley Ranch was honored with a Silver Star in the field of Innovation due to our partnership with AT&T to bring fiber to the premises of every home and business within Kiley Ranch.  Kiley Ranch is one of the first developments in the area to offer this new technology to its residents.  This technology provides residents with “advanced entertainment options, high speed internet access, and technologically advanced communications.”  Learn more about the advanced technology  offered at Kiley Ranch here.

Friday, September 28th, Kiley Ranch participated in the Inaugural Reno Tahoe YPN Summit.  The keynote speaker, Rebecca Ryan, who is an expert on young professionals and what makes them tick, has helped several cities across the nation form their own YPN organizations (including this one) in order to attract young talent to their regions and make their cities “cooler” places to live. Learn more about what the next generation is looking for at nextgenerationconsulting.com.

 The Summit held Reno’s first “20 Under 40″ awards in order to recognize several of the outstanding young professionals in Greater Reno-Tahoe, and one of the nominees to receive an award was our very own Stacey Crowley, Director of Environmental Initiatives here at Kiley Ranch!

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada will be kicking off their Holiday Food Drive this year at the Kiley Ranch Fall Harvest Festival.  Last year the Food Bank collected over 242,000 pounds of food during the holidays and with your help we can get off to a great start in October!  The Food Bank works with many local agencies to provide meals to low income families and seniors in our area.  Please bring your cash and food donations to the Fall Harvest Festival at Kiley Ranch On October 13th to benefit the Food Bank and feed the hungry in our community…and get a free pumpkin!  Click here for more information on the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
